Our coaches will determine the best placement for each player. Every registered player is placed, and players can be moved up mid-season when they earn it.

Delta
The first real team

For a player still learning what a closeout is. Sol against Sol, 3v3 or 5v5 by age, with teams built deliberately equal so no one spends a season getting run off the floor. Grades 3 and 4 may be co-ed.

Local
The competitive middle

For a player who has the fundamentals and now needs someone to push back. League play, weekend games that mean something, and a clear next rung above them.

Travel
The highest level we offer

Invitation only. Competitive league and tournaments, geared for the advanced level player who wants to level up.

Grades 3–12, boys and girls. The fall season runs September 21 to November 22 — two team practices and two skills sessions a week, weekend games, playoffs included. High school players placed on LOCAL or TRAVEL finish November 1, before their school season starts.

Grades 3 & 4 4:00–5:00 pm
Grades 5 & 6 5:15–6:15 pm
Grades 7 & 8 6:30–7:30 pm
High school 6:30–7:30 pm

Wondering about practice days? Most seasons practices are on Monday and Wednesday evenings — grades 3–4 usually in the earlier 4:00–5:30 slot, older teams in one of the later slots, 5:30–7:00 or 7:00–8:30 pm. Exact days and times are confirmed once teams are formed.

Grades 9–12

High school is its own thing.

Same club, same weekly rhythm — but by 9th grade the season is about making your high school team and looking to level up. You can also receive a free Trace camera to film your games.

Questions parents ask.

The season fee is $525 for the full season through November 22, and you can split it into three payments of $175. High school players placed on LOCAL or TRAVEL finish earlier — November 1 — and pay $425. You will know your placement before you are billed; the details are on the high school page. New players pay a one-time $195 fee their first season, which covers player insurance, the official Sol uniform — game and practice jersey — 15% off camps — two summer weeks and a holiday camp, and discounted game admission.

Plan on gate admission when you come watch — $11 at league games, $17 at tournaments, children 6 and under free. The Sol Family Card covers ten entries for $65 and the whole family shares it. Your discount gets you in the door for $6.50 and entry lasts the entire day.

Travel teams are invite-only and cost more than the base season — a longer schedule with more tournaments. Coaches extend those invitations after tryouts and the full cost comes with the invitation, so you see the number before you accept.

No. You register for the club, not a tier. Your child tries out, and our coaches place them based on age, skill level, experience and roster balance. Every registered player is placed in one of our programs. If a player grows into a higher level mid-season, we move them up.

No — they are included. Every Sol player gets two skills and conditioning sessions a week on top of team practice, grouped by grade. Families who are not on a Sol team pay for these classes separately — see skills class times and pricing.

No. DELTA exists exactly for this. Games are Sol vs. Sol, teams are built deliberately even, and the whole point is a season where a beginner actually plays instead of watching. If you want to build confidence before tryouts, our skills classes are a good place to start.

At our home gym — Alliant International University in Scripps Ranch, 10455 Pomerado Road, San Diego, CA 92131. It’s the same building where every practice and skills session happens, so tryout day doubles as a first look at the gym. The next tryout date and check-in times by grade are in the tryout section of this page.

Coaches place every registered player in one of our programs, then your coach contacts you directly — usually within a few days — with your practice days and times. First practice follows shortly after.

Three things, and only one of them is talent. Skills and ability — fundamentals and basketball IQ. Heart — whether a player competes to get better every practice. Coachability — respect for coaches and teammates.

Fall tryouts are Monday, September 14, 2026, and the season runs September 21 to November 22. Two team practices and two skills sessions a week, games on weekends, six to nine games with playoffs included. Travel teams also play in tournaments. High school players placed on LOCAL or TRAVEL finish November 1 so they are free for their school season — they play the same game schedule, front-loaded.

Refunds may be requested any time before the first practice, minus processing and transaction fees. Once the first practice has taken place, team fees are non-refundable. Please make sure your child can commit to the season before registering.

General admission is $11 at league games and $17 at tournaments, and children 6 and under are free. Sol families can buy a Sol Family Card — ten entries for $65, shared by the whole family. $6.50 gets you into the gym for the entire day with the Sol Family Card.

Alliant International University in Scripps Ranch, 10455 Pomerado Road, San Diego, CA 92131. Every team practices twice a week at our home gym — the same days all season.

Exact schedules are set once teams are formed, so we can’t promise specific days in advance. That said, practices have usually held on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and the younger grades (3rd–4th) typically get the earlier slot, 4:00–5:30. Older teams practice later, usually 5:30–7:00 or 7:00–8:30 pm. Your coach confirms your team’s exact days and times before the season starts.
