We offer 3 levels of youth teams to accommodate all abilities and skill levels. All players who tryout are placed on one of our teams – DELTA team, LOCAL team or TRAVEL team. More team details are listed below. * If you child is new to basketball please register them for our Skills and Drills program. Two-three months of classes are recommended before trying out for one of our teams.
When you register for tryouts, please let us know what level of team you are trying out for. Placement onto a Travel team or Local team is not guaranteed but all players are eligible to make a Delta team.
BOYS & GIRLS YOUTH TRYOUT DATE – MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15
Boys and Girls 3rd/4th – 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Boys and Girls 5th/6th – 5:15 pm – 6:15 pm
Boys and Girls 7th/8th – 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

AFTER TRYOUTS
Your coach will contact you by FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 , telling you when your practice days and times will be. Practices are twice a week with games on the weekends.
The first practice will be MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22
IMPORTANT
There is a $195 one-time new player fee. This fee includes Sol discounts to camps/clincs, Sol uniform, Sol t-shirt, and player insurance.
There is a $50 tryout fee applied to the season dues. This will reserve your spot at tryouts. All players make a team! Tryouts will determine what level of team that they make.
*Please make sure your son/daughter can commit to the season as you will be automatically charged.Once a player is assigned to a team no Refunds will be issued.

Each season San Diego Sol will conduct tryouts for its various teams. Each prospective player must come to tryouts prepared and ready to show his/her basketball abilities. Former and current San Diego Sol players are not guaranteed a playing position on any team. Earning a position on a team will be based on upon the following criteria:
Skills and ability
Heart, effort and hustle
Commitment to the team
Work ethic and drive
Coachability and respect
At the club’s discretion, individual players may be moved from one team to another. As any player’s skills and commitment level improve, we may ask the player to move to a higher-level team. These changes in the roster might be necessary to assure the appropriate competitive level for each team and to insure the maximum benefit to each player.
All teams practice twice a week. Delta teams are pre determined. See times below. Local and travel teams practice times will be determined after tryouts. All practices are held at Alliant International University in Scripps Ranch (10455 Pomerado Road, San Diego 92131).
